1) Be on Time: A gentleman is punctual. When you make an appointment, arrive at least five minutes before appointed time. If you’re running late, give the barber a call. Let them know you’ll arrive a few minutes late so, that he can plan accordingly.
2)Be patient – An excellent barber does not rush a haircut. Some hairstyles take more time than others. Well said by Walker a good barber is probably a busy barber and a he takes his time. Additionally, don’t jump in the chair as soon as the previous client hops out.
3) Go up with clean hair – Hair is best cut when it’s in a natural state. You need to ensure that your hair is clean before you go to barber. A Dirty head of hair can prevent a barber from cutting your hair properly.
4)He is your barber, not a magician! – Showing him a stylist photo is always helpful, but understands that the person in the photo has a different quality of hair and scalp then yours. Be Realistic with your expectation with Barber. Don’t expect magic from him.
5)Don’t Suggest. Let Barber choose the Tools –
Don’t demand a scissor cut because you think it finishes better. Have Trust on barber& his tools and let them do their best.
6) Let your mouth speak not your head – Conversation is natural, sometimes even encouraged. But talk with your hands, not the nod of your head. If your barber places his hands on your head to steady it, that’s the international, sign to stop moving.
7)Treat him as an expert – Barbers have gone through a lot of training, and have mastered their craft from cutting hair every day. Remember that he’s the expert, not you. How would you feel if someone not qualified told you how to do your job. Let him do what he’s good at, and enjoy the experience.
8) Keep your phone away – Show some courtesy to your barber and keep your phone away during haircut. You will constantly move your arms and hands if you’re on it. These movements distract a barber from doing his work, and it could cause him to make a mistake.
9)Appreciate the Art with a Tip – Hair styling is an art and a gentleman appreciates it by giving a tip to barber. If you thought your barber did an excellent job, tip him good money. A tip represents how much you like your haircut.
